Following the landmark £125 million transformation of Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere, we delivered an integrated smart building solution designed to enhance both the guest experience and the day-to-day operation of one of the UK’s leading luxury hospitality destinations.

At the heart of the project is an advanced Guest Room Management System (GRMS) serving all 117 guest bedrooms, bringing together lighting, HVAC, motorised curtains and room status into one intelligent platform. Bespoke Room Control Panels (RCPs), designed and manufactured by Intecho, provide seamless control, while hotel teams benefit from real-time occupancy, temperature, Make Up Room (MUR) and Do Not Disturb (DND) monitoring.

Beyond the guest rooms, Intecho delivered intelligent lighting control throughout the hotel, including front-of-house areas, guest corridors, meeting rooms, function suites, the ballroom and external spaces. Flexible lighting scenes, integrated HVAC control and automated scheduling allow the building to adapt effortlessly to conferences, weddings and day-to-day hotel operations.

The project also includes advanced DALI lighting control with automated emergency lighting testing, centralised HVAC management and intelligent fault monitoring, helping improve energy efficiency, simplify compliance and reduce maintenance overheads.
By connecting guest room management, lighting control and building automation into one integrated platform, we have created a smarter, more efficient and future-ready hotel where technology works quietly in the background, allowing guests to enjoy a seamless stay while giving hotel teams complete operational visibility.
